Opening night in Montreal

Opening Night in Montreal. I am really enjoying conducting Rigoletto for Montreal Opera which is a very strong company with a terrific staff and support team. The performance this past Saturday night was very well received complete with a standing ovation and audience members shouting Bravo! I am enjoying conducting the Orchestre Metropolitain immensely. They are terrific and really supportive. As per usual, the reviews are mixed, some loving it more than others. Having conducted professionally for over 20 years, I can state with some authority that one cannot put too much credence into reviews, however, here is one which I feel is well written and intelligent, the author working for a well-respected newspaper. “The courtiers of the OdM chorus were a hearty lot and the Orchestre Metropolitain played with colour and class for Tyrone Paterson in the pit.”
